an invoice of more than 13,000€ to clean up the wild deposit!
It was a passerby who warned the municipal administration of Hensies, who in turn alerted the police. The mayor of Hensies and socialist federal deputy Éric Thiébaut launched an appeal for witnesses: “A truck dumped polluting waste, chemin du Trainage in Hensies, near the motorway bridge and the old dump”, a- he announced on Facebook. “The municipality will have to spend thousands of euros to evacuate them and clean up the soil to a depth of 30 cm. »
The images speak for themselves. The mayor of Hensies published several photos of the wild deposit. You can clearly see the polluted soil. Fuel oil and oil are in huge cans. “The police are investigating,” said Éric Thiébaut. To evacuate all these substances, the municipality of Hensies will have to pay a lot of money. She has already received an estimate to clean up the site, which amounts to 13,000 euros excluding VAT!
Since he launched the call for witnesses, the mayor has received many messages from residents. Some told him that they were going to look at the images from their surveillance camera.
It is in any case not the first wild deposit that we find on this path. A barrier has been placed to avoid this kind of situation. And yet, when we found the polluting waste, the barrier had been forced! “I find this kind of behavior unacceptable,” concludes Éric Thiébaut. “We are doing everything we can to find the culprit. »
