Google officially introduces app storage through the Play Store

Google officially introduces app storage through the Play StoreEvery time Google system updates include various Play Store improvements. For example, the latest update introduces an important novelty: the possibility of reinstalling applications on our smartphones without having to complete the configuration process each time. This feature, presented by Google in March, allows users to uninstall applications but with an important difference compared to the past: the Play Store, in fact, keeps the local data of the software. In practice, it will be as if the application had never been deleted from the device (we speak of “archiving”). This is an important step forward: we think of gamers or owners of phones with limited storage capacity. This update is available with version 33.4 of the Google Play Store.

Therefore, Google continues to enrich the user experience with the Play Store which, among other things, in 2023 should finally be more suitable for those who use it with a tablet. Indeed, recent rumors have revealed that the Mountain View giant would be willing to redesign the application to make it more functional on large screens. Among the new features is a total overhaul of the “Games” section, which should also include app descriptions and viewable screenshots on the main screen. Finally, the company also announced that developers will be able to add up to eight 16:9 aspect ratio screenshots to the Play Store for Chromebooks.
