Matter now available on Amazon Echo devices
Word held for Amazon. During the official launch of Matter, the manufacturer announced that 17 Echo devices would soon be compatible, and it is now done. Updates have been deployed to provide them with support for this new standard developed for the connected home and which should ultimately simplify the lives of users of several connected objects.
On its blog, Amazon indicates that it has indeed finalized the first phase of the deployment of Matter and adds to ensure that it offers a good user experience: “we strive to make the smart home a reality. It is a connected home that simply works by using devices and services from different brands that communicate with each other”.

This is therefore a first step before compatibility is extended and improved, in particular with support for the Thread protocol and iOS devices which could be added as early as the beginning of 2023 according to 9to5Mac. The brand promises for its part other announcements for CES 2023 which will take place from January 5 to 8. A few days ago, Google also announced the arrival of Matter on its Android, Nest and Google Home devices.
