PSeveral dozens of supporters began to gather in the center of Brussels early Saturday evening to celebrate Morocco’s qualification for the FIFA World Cup semi-finals in Qatar.

A large group of supporters gathered in rue Antoine Dansaert to sing and dance in tribute to Morocco, which beat Portugal 1-0, thus becoming the first African country to climb into the world top-4.

The Brussels police are present on site and have closed access to the Plaisirs d’hiver to supporters. The situation is described as festive, but without any incident.

Other supporters also joined the boulevard Lemonnier, as well as the surroundings of the Gare du Midi.

There too, the crowd present dances in an atmosphere enlivened by songs and fireworks.

Residents of the neighborhood and street educators have formed a human chain between supporters of all ages and the police, present en masse to deal with any incident, such as those that occurred after the Belgium-Morocco pool match on 27 last November.
