Ryanair invests an additional 92 million euros in Charleroi and launches 5 new destinations
”We regret that we cannot share good news for Zaventem following their crazy decision to increase prices by 11% from April 2023“, declares for his part Michael O’Leary, the CEO of Ryanair, specifying that the company maintains all the same 12 routes from and to Zaventem airport this summer, on planes based outside our country and with crews “ strangers”.
This summer, 5 new connections will also be opened from Charleroi to the sunny and urban destinations of Asturias (Spain), Cluj (Romania), Iasi (Romania), Lodz (Poland) and Nantes (France).
In total, the company will therefore have 16 planes based in Charleroi. It is thus investing an additional 92 million euros to go from 15 to 16 aircraft. In total since its arrival in Charleroi, the company has invested 1.5 billion euros in Brussels South airport.
Note that Ryanair will also increase the frequency of 30 popular routes, including Dublin, Girona, Malaga, Milan, Pisa and Turin.
In Belgium, Ryanair represents approximately 7,000 indirect jobs.
