Savings accounts: change in January at BNP Paribas Fortis
The bank will “convert” savings accounts, for “the sake of simplification and consistency”.

IThere will be changes for some BNP Paribas Fortis clients. And this, from the month of January.
The bank has indeed decided to delete some of its savings accounts (the star, housing and Hello4You savings accounts), those which were subject to an annual ceiling for payments. “In the interest of simplification and consistency, BNP Paribas Fortis has therefore decided to convert all savings accounts subject to an annual limit into traditional savings accounts. This conversion will take place during the month of January 2023”, informs the bank.
Koen De Leus (BNP Paribas Fortis): “Property prices are expected to fall by around 3% in 2023”
Customers, who will benefit from the same interest rate, do not have to do anything, everything is automated. And the loyalty bonuses acquired on the accounts brought to disappear will not be lost, reassures the bank.
“The main advantage of this conversion is that the annual payments will no longer be limited. The total balance of the savings account cannot, however, exceed the threshold of 250,000 euros,” concludes BNP Paribas Fortis.
