Social inspection called on BSCA: “Ryanair flew planes with foreign personnel to break the strike”
This Friday was the first day of a series of flight cancellations. But according to Didier Lebbe, CNE permanent secretary, Ryanair tried to “break” the strike. “Ryanair brought in staff based in other countries this morning to operate flights which should have been canceled due to the strike. We will bring in the social inspectorate to see.”
According to the trade unionist, the strike movement could intensify in the coming days. “New Ryanair employees are slowly starting to learn about the social movement here. They are hard to reach because they come from different countries – there is an impressive turnover – but after the cabin crew meeting this morning At Charleroi airport, the word is starting to get around. So we expect our first day of action to spread.”
Ryanair workers will demonstrate in Mons, in front of the Palais de Justice, on Saturday January 7th. “This is where the files against Ryanair are opened. Nothing moves, we will demand that these files end up in a courtroom and not in the archives”concludes Didier Lebbe.
