“The Dancer”: has the RTBF event program won its bet? The tears of Sara De Paduwa!
The show is same above the 4+ averages from Season 10 of The voice (23.7% market share and 279,324 viewers) and Young Adults (24.9% market share)!
Added to this are 7,210 views on Auvio, including 4,152 unique visitors. And on social networks, the returns are also significant with 159,634 videos viewed on Instagram, 3,552 views on TikTok and 6,271 likes on Facebook.
The bet was risky because even if dancing is the second most practiced activity in Belgium after football, on television, it is not necessarily synonymous with audience success. Certainly, Dance with the stars sparked on TF1 for years but the program is not at all comparable. In the case of the dancer, it’s not stars who learn to dance, it’s dancers who come to prove their talent. The dynamic is very different.
RTBF did not skimp on the means
A risky bet also with regard to the means deployed to The dancer. It is quite simply, as the RTBF mentions in its press release, the biggest dance competition ever organized in Belgium. It also takes place in the largest studio available from us: 1,400 square meters. All complemented by a one-way mirror concealing an audience of 650 people.
When contacted, RTBF is delighted with this performance, which bodes well for the rest of the programme.
Next meeting to discover other candidates: Tuesday January 17 at 8:20 p.m., still on La Une.
