“Those were always pretty nasty times,” streamer Antoine Daniel went through the same situation as Mastu
Cultural News “Those were always pretty nasty times,” streamer Antoine Daniel went through the same situation as Mastu
Last week, YouTuber Mastu shared his discomfort with many children and teens repeatedly ringing his doorbell. Something that prompted him to take a break and that made many other creators react like Antoine Daniel who himself suffered a similar situation.

“Local high school kids who knew where I lived”
It is one of the videos that made the web react last week. About ten days ago, Youtuber Mastu (5.15 million subscribers) explained in a long video that he needed a break. One Pause which he justifies in several ways, and in particular by the various cases of harassment he has recently suffered. Children and teenagers, sometimes accompanied by their parents, rang his doorbell day and night, forcing him and his girlfriend to sleep with the shutters closed. Something also experienced by Antoine Daniel, today content creator on Twitch, known at the time on Youtube for his series What is the cut :
People were ringing my doorbell every week. They were always small groups, overall. High school students of the time who came to my house. Local high school kids who knew where I lived. I sent my companion because I didn’t want them to have confirmation that I lived there. As a result, these were always rather unpleasant moments.
It was during a live Twitch recorded last week that he told this anecdote as well as that experienced by Frédéric Molas. The latter, also known as Attic Playeris one of his friends from the platform and suffered a similar story:
There was a guy who compared footage and found JDG’s exact house on Google Street View. The guy lived in Marseille, he came with his mother – so his mother was ok with that – and they rang his doorbell (in Perpignan at the time, editor’s note).
Something that in any case seems to have calmed down today for Antoine Daniel: “Now, I am still recognized but it is not the same thing. People have calmed down, and I’d say they’re older now, too.“.
“You’re a Pokémon for them”, when the other streamers react
In any case, Mastu needed to talk about it with an open heart, especially since he declares that “many people who work in this environment experience similar situations at different levels“. However, he himself indicates that he is surprised by the small number of people who talk about it. A video that made the web react, including Youtubers and streamers.
But when you’re at home, in a property that belongs to you, you can’t justify that by “you just didn’t have to be known. How’s your head or what? If you walk outside, that’s the game. But your home is your place. Nothing and no one can afford to come home to you, no matter who you are. – Amine
It’s hot. I hope he will come back soon, and that he will be well above all. It’s true that in what he says, I recognized myself on a lot of things – Stainless steel label
It’s good to talk about it so as not to create a total disconnection between Youtubers / Streamers and people (…) If you don’t talk about it and if there’s no explanation, the guys will all be obliged to get out (abroad, editor’s note). Otherwise it is impossible. You are a Pokemon for them. – Domingo
In any case, everyone underlines the infernal situation that Mastu seems to be going through: evidenced by the proliferation of videos on the subject, many creators returning to their vision of their relationship with their audience since they started this activity.
